Refund Policy

Edition 1.1 — August 23, 2026. Applies to VALION INSIGHTS subscriptions purchased through AWS Marketplace.

Courtesy translation. This English version is provided for convenience. The Spanish version is the binding one; if the two ever disagree, the Spanish text prevails.

How VALION INSIGHTS is billed

Understanding the billing explains almost all of this policy.

VALION INSIGHTS is billed on usage and in arrears. There is no entry fee, no minimum term and no advance payment. Each month you are charged a fee proportional to the AWS spend the platform managed during that period, and that spend is measured daily against the billing data of your own AWS accounts.

Two consequences follow:

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the AWS Marketplace console, with no penalty and without contacting us.

On cancellation, the spend accrued up to the effective cancellation date is invoiced. That final charge is not a penalty: it corresponds to service already delivered.

Full refund within the first 48 hours

If you cancel your subscription within 48 hours of purchase, AWS issues a 100% refund automatically, with no involvement from VALION and with no need to request it through this policy. This is an AWS Marketplace policy that VALION accepts by the mere fact of listing the product, and you exercise it by cancelling from the AWS Marketplace console.

With one honest caveat: because billing is on usage and in arrears, there is normally little or nothing accrued to refund in those first 48 hours. The window exists all the same, and it is independent of everything that follows in this document.

When a refund applies

VALION refunds the corresponding amount in these cases:

  1. Metering error. If the fee charged does not correspond to the AWS spend actually managed during the period. This is the most likely scenario, and it is why every charge can be reconciled against the spend history the platform itself shows you. In this case AWS Marketplace may issue the refund directly to you, with no involvement from VALION: it is a right AWS reserves for errors of the metering service, and one that VALION accepts by using that service.
  2. Duplicate charge. If the same period was invoiced more than once.
  3. Charge after cancellation. If spend is invoiced for a period later than the effective cancellation date.
  4. Prolonged service unavailability. If the platform was continuously unavailable for reasons attributable to VALION, the proportional part of the affected period is refunded.

When it does not apply

With the same clarity, so there are no surprises:

How to request one

Write to support@valion.zohodesk.com or open a case at soporte.valion.com.co, stating:

Filing deadline: up to sixty (60) calendar days from the date of the AWS invoice on which the charge appears.

Response times

StageTerm
Acknowledgement of receipt10 business days
Reasoned decision30 business days
Processing of the approved refund with AWS Marketplace15 business days from approval

Refunds are processed through AWS Marketplace and are reflected in your AWS billing by the same means and within the same terms that AWS applies. VALION does not issue refunds outside that channel. The only exception are the refunds AWS issues on its own account — cancellation within 48 hours and metering errors — which do not go through VALION.
